Fly Me To The Moon is the eighth episode for the AJM STUDIOS series, Batsman and Batling. This is the first episode that does not involve Batsman and Batling fighting crime.

Plot[]

After stopping a notorious jay walker, Batsman and Batling step onto the wrong transit bus that takes them to Vonnegut International Airport. Batsman being confused tries to get tickets for a plane home, but instead scares a teller at a airline desk. Security sweep the building in search of Batsman and Batling as they dive into a luggage bag. After exiting the bag, they are surrounded by airport police, just to be saved by Detective Carter who noticed Batsman and Batling take the wrong bus and thought they would probably need help.

Development[]

Extreme detail was taken into making Vonnegut International Airport seem believable. Parts of the airport were based off real airports such as LAX in Los Angeles, and Denver. Many parts of the airport were made generic, but some sections had very detailed modern structures to make the airport stand out. Also airline advertising was important in this episode, with posters and ads appearing all over the airport to make it feel like a living airport. Airport police even had their own logos and patches to add to the realism. It was shown in this episode as well that MET Transit has different divisions.

Reception[]

Trivia[]

  • The airport is named after American novelist, Kurt Vonnegut. Thought his first name does not appear in the official airport name, the first initial of his first name appears on the IATA code for the airport.
  • The IATA for Vonnegut International Airport is KVIA.
  • The design for KVIA police vehicles is similar to designs on U.S. Federal Protective Police units.
  • Airlines named in the episode are as follows: Fly Off, USA Air, UFlyUs, and Roma Airways.
