Growing Up In Da' Hood
The episodes focus was to introduce characters in a light way that Batsman is not just a dumb little guy. The series has progressively made him a bit smarter and better at grammar for the readers. This episode was also to develop Monteview and Batsman more.
Because this episode was written and drawn at separate times, the drawings seemed inconsistent and varied how the characters looked between panels.
This episode received mixed to positive reviews mainly for the slap stick humor and the breaking of the fourth wall, in which Batsman and Monteview share an exchange on how Batsman seems to be getting smarter, and Batsman says to blame the writers. A major factor on the mixed reviews was because the lack of consistency in the drawings, which seemed to change style from detailed, to out of character sloppy. Some reviewed the episode seemed pointless and was merely a filler. Others said they enjoyed the exchanges between the characters and the added character development.
- When Monteview gets a paper cut, it is one of the few times blood is seen in the series.
